A Field of Flags: Remebering 9/11

This week the Kiwanis Club of Marietta is commemorating the 10 year anniversary of 9/11 with the "09.11 Field of Flags at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park." If you live in the Atlanta area and haven't heard about the field of flags, last Saturday the Kiwanis Club placed thousands of American flags at the base of the mountain. Each flag represents a life that was lost on 9/11. The flags will fly through Friday, September 16. 


I decided to take W with me up to the Kennesaw to run some errands and I'm so glad we stopped by the mountain on our way home. Seeing the thousands of American flags was a moving experience. If you live in Atlanta and can make it up to Kennesaw before Friday, please go. These pictures just don't do it justice.
